Info

This version has been initially released on December 11th, 2021.

We are pleased to publish version 4.0 of Milliman Mind, which includes new authentication options as well as many new features and bug fixes.

New Authentication options

Milliman Mind includes a new authentication system, improving all the security aspects while making it easier to use for end-users and to manage for IT administrators.

  • Milliman Mind is now able to connect to your company's internal Identity system, removing the need to have a specific password and adding the possibility to use Single Sign-On (SSO) to centralize authentication.
This connection should be set up with your IT department and is not mandatory to use Milliman Mind. You will still be able to use your Milliman Mind credentials if you do not want to use this feature.
  • We also added Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to Milliman Mind, giving the possibility to administrators to force their users to use a second authentication factor to access the software (Authenticator app or text message).

Some other features have also been added to improve the security of the solution: protection against brute force attack, AI to detect suspicious IP throttling, API secured accounts with access tokens, ...

The documentation will be only available for logged-in users and can be accessed by clicking on the Help button in the project manager.

New interface for the project manager

Milliman Mind v4 introduces a new design for the Project manager. It brings new features like a better search engine within your Project Groups, a more responsive interface, and several bug fixes.

However, the global behavior is the same that the previous version, so you will not have to change your user habits.

Milliman Mind project URLs do not contain anymore the /#/ sign. Your former bookmarks on Mind Projects will not work anymore, so you will need to remove the Sharp (#) sign within your links to access your projects.

Other improvements and new features

  • Audit trail for flags
Changes of flags through the flag manager are now logged in the Audit trail.
  • Input manager expected file name
A small tooltip will give the user the information about the expected file name for auto-match.
  • XBRL Improvements
    • Possibility to use formulas in QRT selection grid.
    • Select/deselect all QRTs in the interface of the manager.
  • Exported files in the export manager
The limit of exportable files per grid is extended from 1000 to 15000.
  • Goal seek changes
    New MM_CUSTOMGOALSEEK function.
  • Timezones management
    • Informative dates (audit trail, audit trail of runs, ...) are now automatically matching the timezone of the user's browser.
    • Calculated dates (using NOW(), TODAY(), ...) can be set on a specific timezone within settings, handling for this timezone daylight saving time automatically.
  • IFERROR() and ISERROR()
These two Excel functions now catch Milliman Mind internal exceptions (errors).

Other fixes

  • The audit trail of runs was crashing the browser if there were too many lines.
  • During the update model, Mind always removes all formula changes whatever happens. However, it keeps those that replace the formula with a constant value that is not a formula.
  • Instance key grids cannot contain formulas anymore.
  • Within a dashboard, the display of pagination choice had an issue.
  • Model without instances causes a bug when a user added some later.
  • Very slow export when grid had many dimensions.
  • /InputSettings grid was not accepting patterns without {GridName}.
  • XNPV was returning NaN if a parameter was incorrect.
  • Exporting a single grid in TXT was exporting a CSV.
  • Deleting all steps while the user was still in workflow mode left the user stuck in this mode.
  • Bug during validation of project if the user did not have the "sign" right.
  • Mind was badly preventing to sign/validate a folder.
  • MM_FlattenDim was missing some data in some cases with grids of different sizes per loop.
  • Updating project options interlinks will reload data only if necessary.
  • Switches were not consistent in some cases in simple grid/group export.
  • CSV file encoding (UTF-8) was sometimes badly recognized.
  • Prevent ghost sessions in monitoring.
  • Circular references were badly shown.
  • The display wasn't showing the loops as expected when there were too many.
  • Percentage format was disappearing in some cases after input import.
  • Fix of a bug during clone of a folder with interlinks.
