Classic settings set-up
By default, when you import Excel file(s) in a newly created Milliman Mind project, settings are always set at their default value (except Stochastic mode which is automatically enabled if you have stochastic formulas).
Use /ProjectSettings grid
If you want to define Milliman Mind settings directly into your Excel file, you will need to:
- Create a new grid within one of the Excel files you will import (only one /ProjectExport grid per project).
- Add to this grid the flag /ProjectSettings.
- Fill the grid with the default values and parameters of each of Milliman Mind settings following this structure:
| Name | Value | Locked | Hidden |
| SettingName | Value (usually TRUE/FALSE) | TRUE/FALSE | TRUE/FALSE |
- Name is the setting name (a constant that is defined by Milliman Mind)
- Value is the default value for this setting. It can be TRUE or FALSE for Boolean values (switches) or directly a value (like a seed for RunSeedValue)
- Locked is a Boolean value (TRUE/FALSE) that, if TRUE, will lock the possibility to change this setting after the upload of the model.
- Hidden is a Boolean value (TRUE/FALSE) that, if TRUE, will completely hide this setting from the setting panel.
Update the /ProjectSettings grid with a CSV file
To update the project settings grid with a CSV file, go to Model manager > the model that holds your /ProjectSettings grid then click on Specific Tables > Project settings.

You will see a preview of your grid content then:
- You can download the content of your grid to a CSV file.
- You can upload a new grid from a CSV file.
Sample file with all Settings names
To help you develop your model, please find attached a sample project with all available settings and a small explanation for each setting and what it matches in the user interface:
Project Settings sample file - v451.xlsx

This file will be updated each time a new setting is added.
