Mind offers you the ability to display Taylor-made charts, adapted to the exclusive Mind stochastic feature.

Create and display a chart

Open the chart panel

Click on the Charts menu on the right of the top navigation bar, then click on "Create new chart" button.

This will open the chart manager on top of your opened tables. Charts are sorted into six different categories: Bar, Line, Area, Scatter, Pie, and Others. First, select the desired category, then click on the chart you want to display.

Chart settings

Once you have selected the chart type, a new panel will open. There you can choose several inputs:

  • the name of the chart

  • its stochastic property

  • whether you wish to display the chart legend or not,

  • the names of traces

  • the labels of axes

  • the data of the chart

To select data for each axis, click on the corresponding window with the message "Please click to select data". Then, directly click on the data you want to plot. You can select an entire column or row by clicking on the corresponding header or row index. To change your selection, click on the previous data and select the new data.

You can disable the X-axis by clicking on the checkbox on the right of the X label entry.

If you want to plot more than one trace, click on the "+ Add trace" button.

If you want to reset your entries, click on the "Reset" button.

Finally, click on "Create chart" to display your chart.

Combined charts

The newest version of Milliman Mind allows changing the type of chart for each trace.

When plotting a second trace, just click on this button:

A dropdown list will appear, giving you the possibility to change from chosen main type to another compatible type.

Please note that to change your first trace type, you must change the global type of the chart by clicking on "Edit chart type".

Edit your chart

Access charts

The chart is saved and can be displayed again by clicking on the chart menu of the navigation top bar.

Delete charts

To delete a chart from the project, in the navigation panel, click on the trash icon on the right of the chart name when it is not displayed.

Edit your chart

To edit your chart, click on the blue "Edit chart" button on the top left corner of the chart.

If you want to change the type of your chart, click on the blue "Edit chart type" button.

Multidimensional charts

If the data of the chart are multidimensional, in other words, if loops and/or simulations were used, it is possible to display the different dimensions.

In that case, drop-down menus corresponding to simulations and loops are displayed:

  • below the preview of the chart in the edit mode,

  • above the chart, once it has been created.

You can either choose to plot one specific dimension or all dimensions.

  • If you choose one specific dimension, you can navigate through other dimensions after creating your chart but you cannot directly choose to display all dimensions. You must go to edit mode if you wish to do so.

  • Vice versa if you choose all dimensions, you cannot navigate through the dimensions.

Stochastic charts

If you select a single cell with stochastic results (bold), you can display three kinds of charts: Cumulative probability, Density, and Sensitivity. To do so, click on the desired stochastic chart type in the edit mode under "Stochastic property". Simulations must be run to display these types of charts.
