Milliman Mind will convert your Excel files into C# objects during an import, and all your models/spreadsheets/grids will be included in this new Milliman Mind structure.
Cells format
Cells format are kept during an import if they are included in this list:
- Standard
- Number (with support of defined decimal digits)
- Text
- Boolean
- Date
- Data validations (dropdown lists)
- Internet links (HTTP or HTTPS)
Part of Excel styles
If the Excel styles option is turned on on Project settings, the following cell styles will be (partially) kept by Milliman Mind (Display settings):
- Font color
- Background color
- Font style (stroke, underline, italic, bold)
- Cell alignment (vertical and horizontal)
Conditional formating
Simple conditional formating cases will be imported and enabled if the Excel-style option is activated. The formatting will be updated at the run of the model.
Merged cells
Merged cells within Excel can be imported into the software and will be displayed with the same aspect as in Excel.
Locked cells
If you lock your cells for selection in Excel, they won't be clickable within Milliman Mind.
To do so, lock the cell in Cell format panel of Excel then Protect your spreadsheet by disabling cell selection for locked cells.
Cell indent
Cell indent will be kept and behavior will be the same as in Excel.

Grouped lines/columns (outlines)
Grouped lines and columns will be imported into the software no matter the depth, but you will only be able to group/ungroup all elements at the same depth.

Excel notes
Excel notes (comments on one specific cell) will be kept after import and displayed in Milliman Mind UI.
