/StepLabels (Workflow mode)

How to define workflow mode / steps structure directly in the model?

When you are using the workflow mode, you can define grids that belong to each step with a /Step flag and then define the steps name in the Flag manager.

The most recent version of Milliman Mind introduces the possibility to define steps labels directly in the model / Excel file to save time and directly get your workflow mode ready to use.

Define the /StepLabels grid in your model

In an empty spreadsheet of your main model, you can create a new grid with a /StepLabels flag to define your labels/names. The grid must follow this pattern:

Please note that this grid must be alone in a separate spreadsheet of your model or an error will be thrown at import.

With this grid, when you will import your model and switch to workflow mode the structure will be directly ready:

Edit the structure of the steps in Milliman Mind

With the Manage Steps tool

The first possibility to manage Steps structure and names in your project is with the Model Manager > Manage Steps tab.

This is the classic Milliman Mind way to update the structure (you can also easily add steps or groups, rename them and reorganize them).

By updating the /StepLabels grid

You can also do all your changes by updating the specific /StepLabels grid.

To do that, go to the Model manager then on your Main model click on Specific grids dropdown and select Step Labels.

A new popup will appear with the content of your /StepLabels grid. You can download it into a CSV file, and if you have the correct right upload a new CSV to replace the content of the grid.

When it is done, the new structure will apply to your workflow mode.

Bijectivity between the two methods

When you modify the structure of the steps with the "Manage steps" tool, changes are also applied in the /StepLabels grid, and vice versa.

Your changes will also be there if you download your updated Excel file.
